About Us...


Jodie Wallerius
Jodie specializes in strategy development, copywriting and project management. She also oversees the financial aspects of Firsthand Marketing. Jodie assists credit unions in the areas of product marketing, business development, loan and share growth, promotions and member communications. 

Before starting Firsthand Marketing, Jodie served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Red Rocks Federal Credit Union. As Vice President, Jodie oversaw all aspects of strategic market planning, promotions and business development. Under her direction, Red Rocks received first place and second place state credit union awards for two successful marketing promotions. She was also instrumental in developing the strategy that won Red Rocks a coveted community charter -- the first charter of its kind in Colorado -- which has led to tremendous growth and opportunity.

Prior to her credit union experience, Jodie was employed by Nationwide Advertising Service as an Advertising Account Executive. Jodie is a graduate of St. Norbert College/University of Minnesota with a BA in Business Communications, Summa Cum Laude.

Debbie Brown
Debbie serves as a Marketing Consultant specializing in strategic marketing, creative development, computer design and layout, photo editing and pre-press coordination. Debbie enjoys working with clients to meet their specific goals with the power and persuasion of marketing -- all within a results-oriented strategy. 

Before starting Firsthand Marketing in 1994, Debbie served as Safeway Rocky Mountain Federal Credit Union's first Marketing Director. While at SRMFCU, Debbie won a state Bridge Award Honorable Mention for the Money Market News. At SRMFCU, Debbie was instrumental in planning the credit union's first strategic planning retreat -- hiring facilitators and managing the pre-and post-planning activities with fellow management and Board of Directors.

Previously to her position at SRMFCU, Debbie was a Marketing Consultant for the Colorado Credit Union League and an Intern for Arizona Federal Credit Union.

Debbie earned her BSBA Marketing, with an emphasis on  Promotion, from Northern Arizona University.
